Top 10 Coding Challenges
Clinical Information to Help Coders and Physicians Speak the Same Language
Product Description:
A program for inpatient coders and CDI staff
Audio Conference on CD or Audio On-Demand
Sponsored by HCPro's JustCoding.com
presented on June 9, 2009
PROBLEM
Physician documentation sometimes lacks the specificity coders need to assign appropriate codes, leading to physician queries for that additional information or for clarification about the medical terms physicians use to describe the severity of a patient's illness. When physicians fail to provide the necessary follow-up documentation, coders may misinterpret the chart, resulting in inaccurate coding and damage to the physician's professional profile and quality ratings.
SOLUTION
Physicians and coders must understand each other's perspectives and share information. This program examines 10 conditions for which frequent coding errors occur due to insufficient documentation and help bridge the language gap between physicians and coders.
LEARN FROM US
HCPro presents a 90-minute audio conference, Top 10 Coding Challenges: Clinical Information to Help Coders and Physicians Speak the Same Language, featuring speakers James S. Kennedy, MD, CCS (FTI Healthcare) and Shannon McCall, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-I (HCPro, Inc.).
