Product Description:

Audio Conference on CD or Audio On-Demand

Sponsored by the Association for Healthcare Accreditation Professionals (AHAP)

presented on June 18, 2009

The hospital lab can feel like a very unstable place these days, with budget cuts, management directives, and performance-based revenue constantly threatening to undermine quality and accreditation. Lab management must be practical in the changing environment, and adapt to ensure the facility is on board with the overall direction of the hospital. Failure to do so can jeopardize accreditation, especially since the Joint Commission has empowered surveyors to sharpen scrutiny on issues not previously considered problematic.

Avoid complacency. A proactive approach is your best strategy.

Listen to HCPro's 90-minute audio conference, Lab Challenges Update: Avoid the Latest Lab Accreditation and Regulatory Pitfalls. Healthcare consultant Anne C. Belanger, MA, MT (The Greeley Company) and quality director/patient safety officer Eileen Willey, RN, BSN, MS, CPHQ (St. Joseph Medical Center) provide valuable information labs can use to ensure lab quality does not get ignored in hospital-based initiatives and still meets surveyor standards. You'll discover how to keep your lab relevant and compliant in the wake of 2009 Joint Commission waived testing requirement changes, and patient treatment trends such as pay for performance.
