TRAINING ISSUE: Preventing HAIs

Healthcare-associated infections (HAI) are one of the major concerns for the infection control department because they are very dangerous to the patient and incredibly expensive for the facility. The significant HAIs include urinary tract infections, surgical site infections, bloodstream infections (sepsis), and pneumonia. The infection preventionist must understand the potentially fatal consequences associated with these conditions, as well as how best to prevent or neutralize HAIs in a manner compliant with existing regulations, including National Patient Safety Goals and CMS Conditions for Coverage.

LEARN FROM US

HCPro presents Infection Prevention Core Training, Part 2: Protecting the Four Major Sites of Healthcare-Associated Infections. Expert infection control consultants Libby Chinnes, RN, BSN, CIC (IC Solutions) and Peggy Prinz Luebbert MS, MT (ASCP), CIC, CHSP (Healthcare Interventions) educate infection preventionists on how HAIs can occur in patients, and provide detail on specific methods to avoid them. From tactics such as hand hygiene to medical device sterilization, the speakers provide actionable strategies your IC staff can apply immediately, as well as illustrate the benefit of a proper surveillance process.

BONUS: Purchasers also receive a fully customizable PowerPoint that they can use as a reference guide or a resource to conduct staff training at their own facility.

Your complete solution to infection prevention includes the 3-part live core training Webcasts, plus the soon-to-be published Infection Prevention Handbook!
