Course description:
Preventing Workplace Violence for Managers is not a physical self-defense course. Instead, you will learn how to identify which actions constitute workplace violence, identify the violence assault cycle, recognize warning signs of violent behavior to reduce the possibility of a verbal assault escalating into a physical assault, de-escalate violent behavior among patients and co-workers, and report all incidences of workplace violence to your OSHA safety officer. Faculty:
Dr. Sheila Dunn is a nationally recognized expert in federal laboratory and OSHA regulations. She received a Doctor of Arts degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Education in 1986 and a Master of Science in 1982 from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Intended audience:
Safety officers, administrators, managers, and safety committee members in all outpatient medical facilities or dental practices.
