SPEAKERS

John Maa, MD, FACS is currently an assistant professor in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and assistant chair of the Department of Surgery's Quality Improvement Program.  Dr. Maa is a member of the board of directors of the American Heart Association, and Associate Director of Surgery Clerkship at UCSF. He participates on several advisory boards and committees that focus on improving care in hospitals.

James Lewis, MD, FACOG is a member of the Innovations and Advanced Technology group within Kaiser Permanente's national information technology division of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Dr. Lewis is the leader of the Operating Room of the Future initiative for Kaiser Permanente's National Facilities Services, Information Technology, and Clinical Technology divisions. He is the clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, Medical School. He is also the former chief of obstetrics and gynecology at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco, CA. He is currently overseeing multidisciplinary simulated surgical workflow trials at the Sidney R Garfield Healthcare Innovation Center.

Kevin M. Kennedy, is a principal in Seattle-WA-based ECG Management Consultants, Inc.'s Healthcare practice. Kennedy's practice focuses on strategy, operations, and organizational design for hospitals, health systems, and integrated delivery networks.
