Product Description:

Audio Conference on CD or Audio On-Demand

Sponsored by Briefings on Coding Compliance Strategies

A program for inpatient rehab managers, financial and HIM professionals

presented on November 18, 2009

Inpatient rehab facilities are on the list for RAC—recovery audit contractors. On October 23, CMS issued a transmittal that outlined changes to coverage for services provided in inpatient rehab facilities in 2010. This has an impact on how you need to prepare for upcoming RAC audits and reviews.

The best way to get ready for RACs is to take a proactive approach. During this 90-minute audio conference, our speakers describe their RAC reviews and audits, tell you what mistakes they made, and how you can avoid them. You'll learn where to focus your own internal audits, develop processes that reduce risk and what steps to take to correct problem areas, and how to strengthen your appeals.

NOTE: This is an intermediate-level program. Purchasers should have a basic understanding of RACs and how the audit process works, and be familiar with their local requirements set forth in state hospital associations or RAC town hall meetings.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this audio conference, you will be able to:

  • Support medical necessity for inpatient stays and ensure medical records stand up to RAC reviews
