MEET THE SPEAKERS
Joanne Becker, RHIT, CCS, CCPS, CPC, CPCI, is associate director in the Joint Office for Compliance at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. She has more than 25 years experience in inpatient, hospital outpatient and physician coding and auditing, including in education, consulting for hospitals and physician offices in the areas of coding, billing, health information management services and compliance.
Caral Edelberg, CPC, CCS-P, CHC, president of Edelberg Compliance Associates of Baton Rouge, LA, is an emergency medicine and hospitalist audit and coding consultant. She has more than 30 years experience in the coding and billing field and helps hospitals and providers control revenue loss, assure compliance, and better manage the claims process. She has been an active member of HCCA, AAPC, AHIMA, and HFMA.
