About the Authors:

Cheryl A. Niespodziani, MBA, has worked in healthcare for more than 20 years. She is the statewide vice president of quality and process improvement and corporate responsibility officer for Centura Health at Home in Denver, CO. She has led facilities through several successful Joint Commission surveys and was the lead person for validation and other unannounced survey visits.

Beth A. Hepola, RN, BSN, MBA, is director of regulatory readiness for Centura Health in Englewood, CO. As director of quality for a hospital and director of health care administration for an insurance provider, she led successful accreditation outcomes. She also has significant experience with CMS licensure, certification, and validation surveys.
