ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Sharon Ricksecker Brauer, MA, CPHQ, is director of quality and patient safety at Alexian Brothers Medical Center (ABMC) in Elk Grove, IL, where she manages day-to-day operations and acts as accreditation survey coordinator. Before joining ABMC, she worked in the managed care industry for 18 years, eight of which were in quality, helping sites prepare for accreditation. She has also led recertification efforts for various DSC certification teams, most recently in December 2010/January 2011.
Deborah Rossman, RN, BSN, is the program coordinator for orthopedics and neuroscience at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove, IL. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 36 years, the past five in neuroscience in the role of nursing director and then as program coordinator. Rossman has led the stroke team through recertification since 2007, and in 2009, she also took on leadership for the DSC orthopedic program.
