AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR ON-DEMAND

Sponsored by: Medicare Boot Camp—Long Term Care Version

Presented on September 20, 2011

Bridge the gap between ICD-9 and ICD-10.

If your SNF has difficulty getting paid for claims under ICD-9, you run the severe risk of missed reimbursement under ICD-10. Join HCPro for this audio conference where expert healthcare consultants Marilyn Mines, RN, BC, RAC-CT, and Bonny Kohr, RN, CHCE, HCS-D, discuss CMS coding changes effective October 1, 2011, and help you prevent common denials in preparation for the ICD-10 transition. Clinical and administrative staff will learn how to accurately code primary diagnoses, sequence codes, and properly use V-codes. Administrators will walk away with an understanding of ICD-10 basics as well as important budgeting and implementation strategies to stay on target for a smooth transition to the new coding structure set to take effect in 2013.

By attending this program, you will:

  • Save time, money, and confusion by addressing common denied claims under ICD-9 and ensuring the same mistakes are not made under ICD-10
  • Comply with coding changes for fiscal year 2012
  • Avoid denied or delayed reimbursement by improving communication between your clinical and billing departments to ensure accurate coding and eliminate inconsistencies
  • Correctly use V-codes and clarify V-code misconceptions to prevent errors in reporting, justify medical necessity, and avoid denials
  • Develop a cost-effective plan to implement ICD-10 at your facility by strengthening coder productivity and maintaining reimbursement throughout the transition

Learning Objectives
