FEATURED SPEAKERS

George Arges is the senior director of the Health Data Management Group (HDMG) of the American Hospital Association. His areas of responsibility include evaluation and coordination of external health data reporting requirements. His duties include chairing the activities of the National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC) and overseeing the operations of the Central Office on ICD-9-CM. Related activities include development of the HIPAA transaction standards including member advocacy for regulatory and legislative issues surrounding the administrative simplification provisions of HIPAA.

Jim Whicker, CPAM, is Director of Electronic Commerce/EDI and Accounts Receivable Management at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, UT, and is responsible for implementing HIPAA TCS within Patient Accounts for Intermountain Healthcare. A member of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), he serves as national EDI Liaison. Prior to his current assignment with Intermountain, Jim was the Director of Patient Account Services at two Intermountain facilities.

Deb Corti is the Corporate Manager of Finance – Revenue Systems Analysis at Partners HealthCare System, Inc in Boston, MA. Her areas of responsibility include implementation of HIPAA TCS at two Partners facilities and eCommerce product management for the Partners network. Related activities include participation in regional (NEHEN) and national (CAQH) EDI organizations. She is the Project Director of the NPI team at Partners, which includes the UB-04 implementation.
